    I had a chance to enjoy some nice light this morning at a local pond. Shot this using the 1DIV, 600, F/8.0, ISO 800, 1/2500 tripod and gimbal head. C&C greatly aprpeciated.

    Very nice - stopped the wings really well and a lovely BG too.

    I must admit I prefer flight shots where the bird hasn't gone past me yet and this one is a bit borderline for me in that respect (mind you 90% of mine are past me by the time I get on them so I should talk! )

    You did a good job getting thsi duck sharp in flight and the light is nice with good colors. I think this image would be more appealing had to clicked before it turned away from you. Practice, practice and you will succeed.

    Don,

    This is good work and I agree with Marina's comments regarding the capture angle - the eye is so important in bird photography. On balance, really like this one and I might blend the background in the upper left hand corner,..always ensure the edges and corners flow well,...nice one my friend.
