Spent a few hours at Nickerson Beach yesterday morning. The males were doing some fighting over the ladies, getting ready for mating. This guy was chasing another. It was cold but lots of fun and good to see the beach survived hurricane Sandy. Shot with Canon EOS 1DMK4, 600mm, ISO 640, f/6.3, SS 1/2000. Cropped a bit off the right as part of the other OC was still in the frame.

With that expression Nick, it looks like he was approaching a female. Terrific capture with a great pose and light...sharp too. Only nitpick is I wish the right wing was up too...but it's terrific as is. Well done.

Good job on this one Nick. Great HA with the open mouth and the clear yellow eye showing well. Exposed well for the darks and nice detail too. Could work as a vert also. Well done.

Hi Nick, definately a pose from an OC that I havent seen before. Love the light, well exposed, open beak a bonus, and the OC stands out nicely against the smooth BG.

Very nice Nick! It was a great day!!! I agree with the wing position....but very tough with the wind direction we had.
