Default Bush Stone Curlew (Burhinus grallarius)

A strange looking bird from Australia. I love those big yellow eyes. Usually they like to hide in thick bush and sometimes don't move for hours!
This bird was kind enough to step out of the bush onto a bit of more open grass land next to it's usual habitat. These birds are really big and love dense bushes, that's why it's so hard to get a good background...

Very sweet portrait of this unusual (for me) bird. That eye looks too large for its head! Nice low angle and good BG. Well done Jan.

I like the low angle, pose, sharpness, exposure, setting, eye and BG. A new bird for me. Very well done Jan!
