The low shooting angle, pose and IQ, the excellent fg and bg make this special. Well done Karl.

Nice action shot, Karl! I'd say it was worth crawling on the ground! The light angle seems a bit far to the left and the bird seems angled head-away.

Very cool display and pose. Exposure and detail look great. I like how the FG and the BG define the action in between the two. Well done.

Wow -- this is unique! Love it! DOF on the water is pleasingly shallow but focus is right-on for the subject.

Such an interesting pose, Karl. I love your super low angle (well worth the discomfort). Love that open bill and the tongue showing.
If the head was turned our way, I'd be drooling a bit more :)

Hi Karl a cool behavioural shot, in lovely soft light, which in turn has brought out the colours on the head nicely. Lovely pastel colour to the water too. Comp wise, I would take off at least half off the bottom.

I like the low angle, action/behaviour, open bill and DOF. I agree with Stuarts crop suggestion. Very well done Karl!
