This was taken earlier this week at a local Nature Center. It was a set up with dried grass as a BG. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Nice alert pose. I like the perch, placement within the frame, open beak and angle realitive to the focal plane. I see faint diagonal lines which I would try to subdue.

Beautiful pose, light and detail and great perch. Open beak is a bonus. I also see something funky with the BG....wonder what it is. It is a very nice set up, Jim.

Thanks for the comments. I think they are OOF grass blades or distant branches. They are in the RAW file as well. Here is a repost addressing the issue.

Repost looks great and I love the whole scene. Techs look great and the pose and perch make for a beautiful shot. BG is very nice too. Well done

Wonderful image! I love the BG colors and perch, and how they match the subtle warm tones in the bird.

Great detail in darks and lights!

Spot on exposure in this bird, and the details are just amazing. Super pose, perch & BG. Image works for me with or without the faint lines in the BG.

    Great perch, details and BG.
I did not mind the OP, but the repost is nice as well.

Agreed, repost looks better in my opinion.

Great BG, perch and even the tail is in focus.

Such a sweet image, Jim. Love the pose with the open bill. The perch is interesting and sits perfectly in the frame. The exposure and details are spot on and I like your comp.
