    Default Laughing Gull

Went to a local pond, before a club meeting, to look for some ducks. None to be found so decided to work on my BIF skills. The gulls will almost always provide photo opps.
Used a square crop on this as I felt it worked best for the situation. Could have added some canvas and made it horizontal , but liked the look of this. Interested in your opinions.

Very nice!! I do a lot of squarish crops when it fits the subject, but this one feels like an already great image could be even stronger with a little more on the left.

    Hi Joe,
Tack sharp and a really nice sky with the wispy clouds. Very hard to get tack sharp with an incoming bird so well done choosing the high SS
I like the comp but think I would prefer if you took some off the bottom to above your signature.
A couple of house cleaning issues- I see some dust spots in RUC above the wing and a sharpening halo around the lower wing.
Hope all is well with you and yours,
    gail

I like the flight angle, wing position and clouds add to the BG. I like Gail's composition suggestion. Nice image Joe.

Love the exposure with the clouds on the sky. Square crop doesn't work for me personally.
