Shot the crows while waiting for something more exciting -- then boredom released some creative juices.

I had the splats in a folder of textures. There was some work involved in isolating them -- they were on a very messy dumpster. Normally I would drop them in with a blend mode but when I got rid of the other junk, these were sufficiently isolated I just pulled in the layers and masked out some remaining stuff, and around the snag. I think I was able to use Select > Color Range, but Topaz ReMask would probably have been better. This was done about a year ago and was probably before I had ReMask.

The colors and placement of the splats are both great. The turn of the left crow's head really adds a lot to the image.

That is very clever....made me laugh as I have been re working Galapagos photos where the birds are prolific at this but lack artistry

Yes crows are ...i remember the television commercial they made for an insurance company where the put everything on the newly washed car or something like that..this was well done and should go viral

Diane, this is very clever! I think you could crop a little from the right and also open up the shadow on the left crow's eye a little. Nicely done

...or leave (or add) a little more on the left. Good catch on the eye, Cheryl -- I didn't do much with the birds themselves, but that eye is key to the image. Thanks!

lol....I understand this may...or may not be the Ravens creative fireworks display...very inventive idea Dianne..and i sadly have to admit some lousy bird does this most morning on my cream colored garage door daily, and seems it's diet consists of nothing but ripe Olive fruit

That's nature. Some years ago one of our friends bequeathed us a couple of domestic geese. We have a very rural property, but they really liked to camp on our doormat.
