    Default Drake Wood Duck

    Attached Images Attached Images

Took this a month ago at a local small pond with about a dozed resident Wood Ducks living in it. They are a little weary of people but if you are slow and quiet you can get pretty close.
Captured this as I was shooting them and a kid ran buy and spooked them. Most of the time I scorn the kids for scaring off the ducks but this time I was happy they did.

Thanks as always for looking and for your input. Appreciated

You used the disruption to good advantage. Beautiful image, great colors. I hate to sound petty, but there is a smudge between the near wing and the body that might could go, just to polish this up a bit.

Awesome shot! Other than the smudge underneath the wings, everything looks good!

Hi David, great IQ and I really like the light in this. Its seems like you were prepared, as you have nailed this nicely. The flight angle is excellent, sharp, and the colours stand out against the BG. Well captured.

    Excellent shot David!
The HA is perfect and so is the IQ.
You must have done a happy dance when you saw this on the LCD screen!

Fabulous shot, David. Great wing position, head position, colors, sharpness. You should give that kid a tip for setting this in motion when you were prepared to capture it.

Hi David. You captured a great pose with excellent sharpness! The whites on these ducks blow out very easily - it looks like you handled them quite well - and even got some color on the iridescent cheek patch. Very nicely done!

A truly beautiful image, David. One of the nicest wood duck photos I've seen. Good detail, a great head angle, and lovely background!
