This image was taken near Homer, Alaska, on the first morning of one of Artie's IPT's. I'm not sure about the crop, but wanted to focus attention on the explosion of spray, as well as the eagle and fish. Any C & C welcomed.

Fine image Mike and I totally get your decision re the crop, although I would be curious to see what the FF image looked like. Nice detail in the feathers and I am sure others will weigh in with some additional thoughts.

Nice shot Mike, like the tight crop highlighting the detail of the eagle, the water and the fish. Exposure looks good as dose the feather detail. Great job.

I think you achieved your artistic goal Mike. A faster shutter speed would have helped freeze the water droplets better, but you did get the bird sharp.

Is it a big crop? The image could use another round of sharpening.

Troy, thanks for the feedback. It is a rather major crop (to 40% of the original). I'll apply another round of sharpening.

The crop works very well, quite effective. I agree with more sharpening...the focus is perfect but just to bring out the fine detail.
