Besides eagles, we had lots of fun with many tame songbirds on our workshop. Here's an image of the Redpolls fighting over the tiny feeder I set up.

Stunning as usual! I have your second eBook and read it quite a bit, although i haven't had the chance to use much of it yet. One thing that I would like to know ... what AF mode you do you for action like this? Do you like Dynamic with 1,9,21,or 51 focus points? 3D? I've read mixed reviews and was hoping you could shed some light on this. I have a D800 and am still getting used to which focus mode to use. Today, I missed a lot of flying Blue-winged Teals bc I just couldn't lock focus! Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Great capture with both sharp and with different poses. Nice BG too. Very nice!

Hey Miguel, this was shot in manual focus not auto focus. The technique that I used is in great detail in my first eBook. For general birds in flight, I use 9 or 21 point AF.

Manual focus?! Ok. Saving up for the first ebook then. That tip alone might be worth the $$. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Absolutely love the action/behavior here, Alan. Killer BG. Wish the bottom bird were sharper.
