Great setting excellent moss covered perch. Nice pose, IQ and neutral BG.
Great overall image of this little cutie, Gail. We still have four of them in our backyard.

Beautiful contrast and detail in soft light. I like how the line of the bird's tail follows the perch, but wondering what you'd think about a little off the right? My eye follows that line and sort of gets stuck on the right edge.

Excellent techs. I like the soft BG & light that gives a 3D effect. I also like the perch with its wonderful texture. I could see less room on the right & more room on the left. TFS

Gorgeous. Love the way he's isolated against the simple BG, with the interesting perch as an added benefit. Pose brings out his red cap to perfection. I'm a bit conflicted about the comp; several others beat me to it, but I was thinking it might look better with a little off the right and added to the left.

Not the usual image from you, Gail. Love the perch, your composition and all the amazing details in your bird. Colors are really rich.

Super, really like the colours, BG is also a perfect match.
Detail is intense, why bother going out just sit by the window!

I have not looked at previous comments either post looks very good to me. Colours are gorgeous I presume this is a male in breeding plumage with such a handsome red toupe!

I think the RP is better. I noticed the raised foot, which I like, because the RP focuses my attention on the red poll & less on the perch. Nicely done.

Sweet as Gail ! and what a splendid scene from your window. Liking very much the mossy perch and head turn on this little guy...like his little red French Beret and Goatee beard too lol lol. Very nice fine detail showing through and i think the re post has improved, but I'd also suggest cropping a little more from the bottom to just above your watermark

Comp in the repost is nice. The perch is a fantastic addition to this sweet bird. I would work on the eye as it looks a bit "steely".

Colors are beautiful and the mossy perch is great. I can see some more cropping done as well, but I like both versions as they are. I agree on a bit of an eye doctor. Well done.

Gorgeous details, perfect exposure and nice comp in the RP, Gail.
A minor nit - I wish the other eye was either fully visible or not visible at all.
I'd also clone the white area on the perch below the tail.
RedPolls from the bedroom window and Bald Eagles close by - Nova Scotia sounds like a great place to be :)

Awesome common redpoll image. The perch is unusual for a redpoll image, and that, coupled with the
light quality, angle of view on the bird, and details...make this a standout. The repost is a definite improvement
in composition. Dig the tail feather seperation.

Hi Gail, excellent detail on the little fellow, and I do like the angled pose. The moss on the rock adds that something extra, and I really like how the redpoll pops against the distant BG.
