I downloaded the free upgrad to Nik's creative suite and just had to play with Silver Efexs Pro 2 first and lucky for me I just shot an air show last weekend that featured WWII planes. The highlight of the show for me was seeing a B 17 Flying Fortress bomber in flight along with the P 51 Mustang.

I like the B/W choice here, and the clouds are dramatic. It could pass for an air-to-air shot except for the gear doors being open.

The brightest white area on the cloud just below the plane catches my eye -- it looks blown out. Probably easy to fix.

The other bright cloud along the left edge also pulls my eye -- I'd think about burning it down.

Hi Don, hearing these beasts fly by is awesome, but to be able to be in the air with them I would assume was a dream come true? Whenever we have a special occasion and the Lancaster & Spit fly by, the noise just stops you in your tracks. I bet you had a great day, look forward to more.

Not sure Dianne if this is for critique in this part of the forum, and I think they are the payload doors that are open?????

Yes payload doors and ans Steve as much as I would have loved to be in the air with these guys this was shot from the ground. The critique is also welcomed and something I was borderline on my self if i should tone down the bright clouds

Beautiful shot, Don! What a thrill it must have been to see and photograph these WWII planes! I love the B&W treatment and the B-17 is the perfect subject for it. One of these days, I'm going have to get Silver Efex Pro because the results I've seen from it are just so good. I would be tempted to add more contrast to the clouds to make it even more dramatic.

This is super super cool. The clouds and the banking airplane are great. Certainly has the feel of been shot from another plane.

Super cool, love the clouds and the feel they created Don. To me it is one of the most thrilling things when the stealth bomber fly's over head. I just Love that power and amazing thunderous roar!! Heee Thanks for sharing and thanks for the tip Marina
