    Default Hi from the UK

This looks like the place to introduce myself.
My name is Paul, and I like taking pictures of birds (this is the bird-photo-aholics meeting right?)

Enjoyed nature as an angler from a very young age, but unfortunately angling in the UK is far too overpopulated these days for my solitary taste. With great sadness I had to give it up, it wasn't good for my soul any more.
I had always tried to take pictures of the wildlife around me but was rarely satisfied with the results of my limited equipment so 2 years ago I (over!)invested in a 500D and a 400 5.6. "Wow" I thought "now I'm really set" - needless to say over the peak of each mountain lies another mountain, more attractive and yet more daunting a climb than the previous one.
Mistakes are way more bountiful than results but at least they are cheap to make.
I'm learning all the time, I just hope the new stuff doesn't push the old stuff out of my little brain!
I'm back to enjoying myself (and nature) again anyways.
    This year I upgraded to a 7D
I mostly just go wandering around the local woodland areas and try to make the most of whatever opportunities arise, but I also am lucky enough to travel the world for work so any day off I get now I will have the camera with me to make the most of the light we so rarely enjoy at home!

I'm here to learn from some incredible photographers so I will always be grateful for any help and advice you may take the time to impart.
I will certainly be posting some photos for critiques, please be as (brutally if appropriate) honest as possible - "The brightest sun is the purest gun"

    Thanks and Hi

    Paul "Keebs" Keeble

Hi Paul and welcome to BPN!! Good to have you here and it's nice to see your great enthusiasm towards nature and you photography. This is definitely the place to learn and I encourage you to post whenever you can and try to learn from your critiques and also read what others have said about other members images as it could also be a great learning tool. Don't be afraid to make your own suggestions as beauty is in the eye of the beholder and your suggestions and critiques are always welcome here. You might want to start in Eager To Learn if you are feeling a bit shy or if you feel more eager go right for the Avian forum. Either way I believe with an open mind you can learn alot here.

Great advice Paul and welcome. Good to see more people from across the pond joining.

Get to know your patch, get to know your wildlife, be patient, give the animals respect and they will respect you and reward you in the images you take. If you have any questions just ask, the more you participate the more you will learn. Enjoy and have fun.
