Just finished up my SW Florida tour and starting to work on some images.....here one from a great day on the Hooptie Deaux with Capt. James, Avian Mod Marina Scarr, and ETL Mod Jeff Cashdollar. Should be around a bit more in the next few weeks catching up on posts. A chilly 45 degrees here in Miami as I head back up north later today.

The black BG is from the very dark mangroves at first light.

That spoonie just pops off of the black BG, Roman, and I like the wing pose. It was great fun shooting all together with Capt James on the Hooptie Deux and it was nice that the spoonies were so colorful and plentiful.

Great shot Roman. The black background makes the bird color pop off the canvas. A great pose also. Well done!

Overall this is a terrific shot- the spoonie and the light on it are very good. In all honesty, I'm not a fan of a totally black BG, though. I admit the bird does pop off the black -- I just wish it had some other color. Overall, very well done.

I like the way Spoonies look against a dark BG. Nice wing position and eye contact. I do find the copyright to be a bit much for the image though.

    Hi Roman,
Man, that is a big signature! My eye flew to it, even on the thumbnail.
Otherwise, this is a great picture. I love black BG and find them very dramatic.
I like the incoming angle and the light on the face.Nice and sharp with good IQ

Love the bird... jumps off the screen against the dark background. Another vote to tone down the signature, as it jumps nearly as much.
