This is magnificent and up there with the best that I have seen posted this year. The Fg & BG are to die for and the bird is sweet. I might just add a bit of depth to the dark areas of the throat to increase the apparent iridescence.

Beautiful colours and excellent sharpness and details on the head, Bonnie. The flower in the foreground is a beauty too.

    A great photo, Bonnie.
Brilliantly executed. The flower and the Bird floating in out of the BG is very nice.

Just amazing Bonnie and 100% enviable !

Such an eye catching image with a lovely array of colors...very feminine/dainty/pretty.

Definitely of of the times when lots of wing blur works perfectly, yet the all important head is in great focus...loving also the look of concentration on the bird as he approaches the equally delightful flower catkin.

About as good as one could expect but if was to be picky and pedantic I would suggest it may be able to stand a tad more sharpen on the head/eye region

Simply spectacular. Love the way you used the lower shutter speed to show the wing motion, yet everything else was in sharp focus. Beautiful colors, flowers, BG. Filled flash worked well here.

Whatever you did to get the diffusion effect is wonderful, and the lilac and yellow-green colors are most pleasing. What wouldyou think about a little off the top?

I"d think about cloning out the ghost image of the wing coming out of the head, too. (From the flash firing?)

very nice! I like how you have fully blurred the wings, it feels like he is floating in space. nice colors too! My only suggestion is a bit more room on the left. TFS

Wow! Thanks everyone! I did work this guy for two days to get something different. The bg is a stand of lavender and a green bush-shot from (but not through) the living room window. ;-)
Arash, I believe you are spot on to give it more room to the left. The pink comes up further and completes the frame and the little guy does not feel so cramped. Thanks!

Awesome! This could be a prize winner in multiple categories. I agree that this is candidate for image of the year.

Really like this - the ultra blurred wings with the sharp head is fantastic. I like the perspective. TFS, well done.

Such a cool angle of view on the subject(s).
Gorgeous soft light and colors. Love the wing blur.
