    Default Rufous Bristlebird

This is a ground-dwelling skulker of thick undergrowth. I was lucky to get a clear shot of this guy before he scarpered back into the bush.

These are a handsome looking bird with their nicely scalloped feather design, and a restricted range around the coastal strips of Victoria, the Lower Glenelg River NP is a good place to photograph these birds where they can be quite tame.....but only if and when they sit still long enough....rarely ever sitting in trees.

Liking his red eye showing clearly in this one and i like the head turn....I reckon another round of sharpening could be added to this shot

Well done getting one of these out in the open Greg.
Nice alert pose and effective side lighting.

Beautfiul bird, love the eye color and the scalloped breast feathers.
Perfect shooting angle! Really like how you achieved perfect dof for
the bird and the sharply focused ground areas running the width of the
    frame.
