I know in some places Iceland Gulls are common. They are not common on Long Island where I live, but this bird is a regular, has been for a few years.

Very nice wing and gull position in the frame, Grace.
I like the sharp FG rocks in the RHC, nice use of f10.
Maybe just a tad more contrast to give the Gull some pop, but
A very nice BIF and environment photo in one!

Holy cow Grace, that is one magnificent gull image!! Awesome exposure, good wing positions, crystal-clear eye, great water action...but what makes it for me are the pebbles in lower right that beautifully anchor the image. Highly appealing!!

Congratulations on getting this species, and a fine shot of him to boot. I agree with Daniel on all points. I occasionally see a report of one of these guys in New Jersey, but have never seen one (or at least didn't know it if one was hiding among a large gull flock). Well done.

    This is really nice Grace.
I love the low to the ground, incoming pose with the forward wing position.
The best part though, are the pebbles in the RLC,
    Gail

I love gulls of all types and this one is beautiful. Great job capturing the nice WP and HA. Exopsed well and the head is tack sharp. Love the pebbles but dont love the wave on the left. Nice work
