    Here's a Giant Kingfisher photographed on a recent trip to Southern Africa. Waited for the Kingfisher to start hunting and hoped he would catch something but never expected a crab to appear in it's beak..

    This is truly an amazing sighting and capture, Jeroen. Love the raised crest and tail, low angle and the crab puts this one over the top. I would have been thrilled with the experience of witnessing this behavior but the picture is the icing on the cake.

    Wonderful moment , and that too in fantastic focus and nicely exposed
    About the moment i think you have nailed it all.
    I may be inclined to clone the various highlights in the water behind just to add the full focus to the bird, it just distracts a bit. however its a matter of personal choice.

    Wow that is quite a moment captured. thats either one very large kingfisher or very small crab.

    That's one funky looking bird and quite a size crab meal as well....I'm just in awe that you witnessed this kind of thing. Detail and light is beautiful on bird and crab
