The local slough was full of these guys calling today.
I managed to get one in the open.

Looking quite similar to our Golden Cisticolas, lovely little bird that is often difficult to get a clean shot of in the reeds. Color { earthy } is very nice and is the backdrop, the fine detail is extra good and the calling posture is the icing.

I think tinkering with different crops may be interesting, vertical possibly , I would also consider removing the darker reeds on the left

Nice pose, it really shows off that beautiful rusty back with the black and white contrasts. Great background and I like the reed on the left - just a hint of the environment.

Like most things about this shot...agree with removing the reeds at the left. Would wish for a slight head turn toward you, but great as is with the open bill.

You have some nice suggestions above.
I love the image for the pose, open beak and lovely details and BG.

Great calling pose and typical wren tail-up. I would tone down the perch a bit and I would have preferred a better head / body angle, although I realize they can be tough to get properly. Rich colours, I especially like the rufous browns on the rump and back.

    This is really sweet Dan.
I like the browns and the diagonal line of the perch.
I think this would look great as a vertical as well.

Nice little guy. I love the singing pose, and the feather details, Dan. I find it difficult to get a good image of this guy, even with playing the tape.
