If the bird is a captive one please indicate (c) in the title.

About the image: nice pose as mentioned. I would recommend to compose differently next time.
I find this image quite tight and the fingers is almost clipped.
Looking at the speed ISO640 seems causeless.

    Very interesting transition plumage btw.

The bird is not captive. Sorry but I don't get your comment on the iso speed....

    Hi Giulio,
I like the image! Agree with Gyorgy that the light is a bit harsh but I think you managed exposure well, could go just a little bit darker in post processing.

I think Szimi wanted to point out that from the look you had plenty of light, and could have gone with a smoother ISO like 100 or 200 and didn't need to go up to 640, for the sake of having less noise in the image and some more dynamic range.

    Cheers,
    Christof

Yes, this is exactly what I mean :) This is not an error just an option to reduce the number of possible defective elements from photography :)
    Keep up sending images :)

Szimi, I could have gone a little lower with the ISO, however 400 x 2 x 1.3 = gives me an effective focal lenght of 1040mm and this was hendheld, so by going lower, should I have risked to blur the image? The diaphram was wide-open at f8.

    Thanks, Giulio
