My wifeand I just call him "the little guy".
He is little but very feisty, keeping the almost twice as big Mallard boys away.
He is more passionate about the Mallard ladies though.
Here is yet another image of our rare and only guest of his kind in the Bay.
Thanks for looking.

Hand held as low as possible at this location.
Beautiful colors, not just in the helmet, but in the body as well. And the open beak makes this one special. Great light and detail. Wish for just a tad of head turn. I know you've said that a lower POV isn't possible at this location.
Very nice colors, open bill, eye. Nice that the tans in the water match the drakes sides. POV and head turn are the only areas that could theoretically be better(as mentioned by Bill), but some things you can't control.
Beautiful colours and excellent details in this little bird. Over here I have also noticed their amorous intentions to other species!
Just a consideration but not important, the bill has shiny reflections on it, you could fill that in with a red brush??
I looked at it on the ipad nearly 3 times, even now its open there.
I am completely in love with this image, the bird is alert and open beak makes it lovely,
The colors are like magical, all of them on view. not saying anything else i am still looking at it.
Very nice shot.
Beautiful drake.
Love the open bill, nice details, and great comp.
A little more head turn towards you would have been nice, but it's still a terrific shot.
Well done.
