Default Re-Post of Spoonie in flight!

This is a re-post of the image I posted the other day (also in the correct size). I returned to the RAW file based on the comments received then. I added canvas on the top as the wing was very close to the edge but not clipped. I cropped a bit off the left side and bottom I also re-processed this is DPP, added some NR to the BG and re-sized.

    This was the original post.

Nick, this is just a fantastic shot in the most gorgeous light. I have never seen such light esespiacclly when it is shing on a beautiful bird and was able to take such a shot. It has a dreamy surreal quality. Great exposure and sharpness. The dark BG works so well here. Loi.

    Much better!
A most unusual shot of a spoonie because of the glow on the wings. I like it.

Original post looked pretty good to me except for the red channel which is easily fixed by bringing down the red saturation a few points. Love that color against the dark BG. Lovely flight pose, nice and sharp.

The light on the bird is just fantastic, and the dark BG really accentuates the incredible light and color. Sharpness isn't as good on my monitor as it is on some of the other commenters'.

I love the light and the near wing. Nice dark BG. For the repost can you tell what I did?

    Hi Nick,

the reds are still blown. you can check this in photoshop by looking at histogram. you need to bring down the exposure and saturation back before RAW conversion.

Hi Nick, no, I did not touch the colours for the repost. I leveled the horizon as the pale streak at bottom was slanted and created the illusion of needed rotation (to my eyes anyways).

When I download the image and open it in CS6, I get the same histogram as you Arash. But I see plenty of detail in the reds. I personally wouldn't desaturate them. I like the way the intense color pops against the dark BG.
