Another from last week from a huge flock near a popular local bird feeder station. I like the way this one seemed to be hanging off the "cliff"...which was only a couple of feet off the ground. In my title I say "Spring Snow" as at this time of year when the temperatures get warm enough to start melting the white stuff away it takes on a different texture...harder, grainier, and icier...we see that texture well here.
With this pose take a wild guess which direction the feeder is located!
Canon 7D + 100-400L @400mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/8, ISO 400, natural light, handheld, cropped for composition, some black debris spots in the perch spot-healed out, darkened pupil via burn tool.
I enjoy the contrast between the background color and the white snow/light toned subject.
Both feet show really well against the snow...a subtle yet attractive detail imo.
Excellent details in the bird and snow, Daniel. The colours are kind of muted in the bird and background but the background colour compliments the pird's colours nicely.
These girls are so beautiful..... Totally love the crunchy snow.... Crest looks "orange" a bit (as does some color on neck and breast?) rather odd.... rest looks spot on....oh....and, maybe a little off the left and top? BG, eye... everything else is FAB. Great capture!
Daniel Sir,
Gorgeous image of beautiful lady.Love the pose, colors, nice BG and composition.By her pose it looks like feeder is in front and right side of bird.
