This is the first time I have seen one in the garden since last year so I was pleased to capture this little guy.

Nice bird here, we get this specie in the north east of india , never seen it yet
I think the head turned side ways is a big plus otherwise it would have difficult to sight the eye in that black head
Focus looks spot on and so is the exposure, Bg is nice and somewhere near the bird the bg seem to highlight the bird, i like the perch add some more colour to the frame.

    Hi Jonathan,
Great BG and I like the yellow on the perch. Nice diagonal line as well.
I wish the entire bird was parallel to the sensor.
terrific view of the feet. Exposure and IQ are excellent.
Are coal tits and our NA black capped chickadees the same species?

It is so much similar to our Black-capped chickadee. Nice perch, background and nice head turn, Jonathan. The background is nice and smooth as always.

Hi Jon. If these are anything like our chickadees over here, they are in almost constant motion and challenging to photograph. You did very well with this one! You captured a nice pose with good sharpness and DOF, plus good detail in both blacks and whites. The perch is interesting in its own right and the diagonal is a plus. The comp and background top things off. Excellent work - I wouldn't change a thing!

Gail the Coal tit and the Black capped chickadee look remarkably similar, the Coal tit has a white stripe at the back of it's head, down the neck.
Both belong to the Paridae family, Coal tit is Periparus ater, Black capped chickadee is Poecile atricapillus

Perch, subject, BG, colours, sharpness all look great. I only wish the tail-end part of the body had swung over our way a bit more.
