I used the flash via extension cable and illuminated the rear surface of the fungi. The image isn't quite what I wanted, the effect shows to it's best with just one layer of fungus. Your comments would be much appreciated.
Hi Jon. Nice use of the off-camera flash! It really adds some nice color to the fungi. I agree that the image would be stronger if all the fungi were lit up, but I understand the difficulty when they grow in layers like this. Very sharp where it most needs to be and I like the diagonal of the wood substrate. You might clone the single strand of spider web near the LLC. This is an intriguing image!
