    Default PAINTERLY SNOW GOOSE BLUR

Spring has sprung in SE Idaho. The snows are back. These geese may have wintered at Bosque del Apache. This is a mini blast off, compared to those experienced at Bosque. I added two Photoshop filters ( dry brush and canvas texture ) I guess this image could be classified as ephemora.

Should learn how to spell ephemera.

Beautifully done, Gary! The filter combo is one I want to try after seeing this. The pano crop amplifies the motion (flight) direction and adds to the abundant energy of the event. Love the sky texture, too.

The colors and painterly look are wonderful. The diagonal is very effective, and this is a prime example of an image in which a strong diagonal running from bottom left to top right is much better than one running the other way.

Gary, I like the dry brush feature and use it for awhile and then forget about it. I'm glad you reminded me - it adds a lot to this image. I like the painterly effect

I don't know what ephemera meant, so I looked it up. I like this image, it would probably look better if seen full size, as said above very painterly. TFS

Wow Gary. Love the painterly look here. Would love some lessons on the technique on the Dahlia IPT! The pano crop adds.

ps: I really love the clean lower edge. Looks as if we created something of an Out-of-the-Box Monster at Bosque....

Lovely work. The time of take-off seems to me to be ephemera, however it is spelled. Your filter use is excellent. I haven't been successful using those filters. I agree with the comments above. Not only are the geese taking off at an angle, they create an angle in the image. The subdued colors are lovely.

Anita, IPT stands for instructional photo tour. Artie and Denise Ippolito provide a 5 day session at the Swan Island Dahlia Farm, Canby , Oregon. Canby is near Portland.
