One of the most commonly kept pet birds. Seeing large flocks of them in the wild was amazing. They are such elegant and fast flyers. This bird came as a bit of a surprise to me, because I didn't expect it to be where I was photographing the Hooded Parrots. Obviously, this stunning male was a welcomed addition, though :)

As someone who used to have a pet Cockatiel I must say that I much prefer to see this photo of a wild one...way cool!! Love the comp, and the perch is perfect. Nice surprise for you!

    Lovely image Jan.
Composition is perfect with a great background , the head turn is very special here which gets the crest in full view in its full beauty.

Lovely pose and the crown on this bird is outstanding. The perch, bird and BG all compliment one another. I wonder whether you took any with more DOF wherein you were able to get the bird's back feathers also in focus or did no not have enough light?

Lovely Jan, I see the occassional one when I go bush, but getting within a suitable focus distance is another matter altogether.

Lovely over the shoulder look, and smooth backdrop...gnarly perch is a bit special as well
