Taken on my August trip to the Timbavati Game Reserve, South Africa. Late one afternoon we found the male cub lying on a downed tree in the dry river bed, waiting for his mom. He decided to take a peek at us too.

Hi Rachel, now I'm back viewing on the laptop again, however when I looked at the image yesterday on the work monitor the blacks, I think, looked a wee bit heavy, but...?

I like the clarity, detail and overall PP which is looking really good now. What I might suggest is trying the Graduated tool to try and drop the rather whiter starkness in the BKG and then loose say half an inch on the LHS. Techs look spot on and you handled the back lighting very well. Good job on getting the face clear of the vegetation.

What a pretty guy and I do like his expression. I also like the light on the cat and the detail.

Rachel - this has the best clarity, detail and sharpness that I've seen from your recent posts.
I agree with Steve, and might also try a reverse grad filter for the bottom to open up the details a bit more (dodge will also work).
