Alright I was looking for some new birding spots to check out in the area and this spot come up about three hours away. I was thinking of making a weekend trip there some time soon as was just hoping a member on here might have been and could give me some more info and tips

Are you familiar with the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge near Birchwood, TN? It's much closer - maybe 40 miles. During winter, you can observe thousands of sandhill cranes and an occasional whooping crane. The rest of the year it is a good location for bald eagles, osprey, waterfowl, and wading birds.

Cades Cove in the Smokies is just 2 hours from Chattanooga.

To the south, you've got to visit Old Car City near Cartersville, Georgia. Also consider Gibbs Garden north of Atlanta.
