Most birds in my area are busy moving nesting material to their nest sites.
This Osprey was fun to watch as she flew up to a tree, grabbed a branch, then flapped and hung sideways until it broke or she gave up. Then she would fly back to the same tree and try again. I like her gaze looking up at her mate flying over her.

Agree her eye is great and nice up swept wings with excellent under wing light with the head clear of them as well, background looks very nice as well....not sure if it could do with more canvas on the left or not....I think maybe yes
Very nice shot indeed, excellent detail and pose, complimentary background. Although the light was bright you managed the exposure well. The twigs in the talons provide added interest. Regarding composition I think I would have gone for 3:3 and moved the bird back just a tiny bit.
Lovely one, the image is sharp very nicely exposed in bright light ( i know i have #$%$%@ up a few of osprey due to bright light over water)
THe BG compliments the bird very well , Agree with Phil that a bit more of canvas on the left will enhance this more
One thing I immediately look for in this type of image is the bg achieved, and you've achieved a gorgeous one here. Love the mottling.
The flight pose rocks, and the nesting material is equally as nice. Wonder about getting rid of the slight blueish tinging on the topside of
the bird's right wing in post processing...
Hi David. Excellent flight pose with the wings up and the body angled slightly toward us. Also very sharp and with good detail in the whites. The exposed talons and twigs add interest. This is very well done!
This is really nice David.
I like the comp as is.
IQ is great and really like the eye looking upward.
Near wing detail is excellent.Twigs are perfect size and perfectly placed.
I would try to get rid of purple color in the far wing.
Really like the little bit of green in the mottled BG,
Gail
Thanks everyone for the time to comment on my post. Appreciated. Shawn and Gail, The blueish haze on the far wing was my mess-up.
Just before posting I thought the wing was a little dark so I ran a bit of the dodge tool over it to lighten it up at only 2% opacity but it made that huge also. I should have removed it. Thanks.
David:
Magnificent flight pose with nesting material. Love the full up wing position, colors, details and the way bird pops up against lovely BG.
Nice composition too.
