Wonderful BG, detail, and composition, Stuart. One small nit is the white speck in the middle of the neck - I would clone that out. Also, I wish the end of the beak was in focus, OTOH, great HA. Otherwise, very well done!

Really nice detail, exposure, and I just love that green eye. Wish the head were a little more turned away, and that the tip of the beak was in focus.

    Stuart,

Wonderful colors and detail you captured here. I'm OK with the head angle here, but wouldn't have complained had he turned a bit more to the right. The detail in the eye is magnificent.

Shot at 300 mm, you must have been really close. I'm not sure that stopping down would have given you too much more dof, but i may have given it a shot. Either way, you nailed the focus on that shot. Very nicely done!

Top right corner has the tiniest sliver of a line. Right at the top.

Those birds have the most unique eyes and you have captured it beautifully. Great exposure on the black feathers.

Yes to a bit more dof, but liking the emerald green eyes, exposure looks very good, and yes to getting rid of that one white dot on the neck and the tiny bit of line or something top right

Beautiful lighting had shown the plumage and eye to maximum effect, my one and only criticism is the bill tip is not quite in focus.

Great background color/control achieved. Handsome bird! Solid exposure work. Nice sharp details.
Love the eye and it's coloration. Another vote for trading some shutter for f-stop to get the entire bill
    in focus...
