This was shot on the same morning as the tight crop previous post (it's not the same bird). I liked the gold reflection in the water and the ruffled feathers. Cropped to a horizontal shot from vertical. Techs: Nikon D7000/500mm f/4-P/1.6x TC on tripod/gimbal @ 1/800, f/5.6, ISO 400. As always, your comments and suggestions are most appreciated!

    Jeannean,

This one is really lovely: the ruffled feathers make the image very dynamic and the black feathers against the background colors are beautiful.

Super details in those whites and blacks and this image is really nice and sharp. Love that BG colors

Nice detail/exposure on the blacks as well as the whites, the water color is a treat for the eye as is the satin texture of the water. Liking also the red showing in the eye, but would of preferred a little more eye contact with the photographer. I think also a bit more space on the top and right hand side of the image would assist with composition a little

Wonderful all around! I love the bit of disturbance in the water around the legs, and the color is a treat!

The framing is perfect, for me.
