    I shot this last week using the 7D, 300, f/8.0, ISO 400, 1/3200 HH. Not sure if there's anything I could do with the background but really like the colors. C&C greatly appreciated.

    Hi Don- Beautifully done! Love the detail, colour, wing angle and nice bird/head angle. The only thing I would try is a little brightening of the mid-tones by moving the middle slider in Levels to the left a little.

    Don,

    Love that full-extended wing, the detail and color are really strong in this picture. You mentioned the opportunity with the background intersecting the body and that would improve the image. it is still well done, but a cleaner background could improve the image IMO, just something to keep in mind and lets see what others say?

    I assume you are using eval metering on the 7D and you did well to control the whites, the tendency with the bright sky is to underexpose or compensate and blow the bright sections of the subject, these techs looks good.
