Beautiful image Gail. It looks like the BG was painted to compliment the perch and bird. Very well done.

This is real nice Gail. The angled perch with the partially eaten berries, the beautiful soft feather detail, the raised wing and the killer complementary BG makes for a great scene. Very well done.

Looks like a painting from the composition standpoint, agree with all the compliments above.

The subject pose is awesome! Well captured action, and a well composed scene.
Not easy to get clean compositions in this scenario...so I appreciate what you have
accomplished here. The apples look "late season" rough and are about the only thing
I don't care for in the image....so fresher apples next time :)

I love the little wax drops hang from the wing, very cool. Comp looks good and it was a good call to add canvas above. Very wintery despite the lack of snow!

This is so beautiful, Gail. I love the pink detail on the tips of the wing feathers, the background, the wing in motion, the colors. Just a stunner. I wonder if you did a slight bit of dodging on the eye if it might pull it out just a little bit.

Hi Gail, good detail on the Waxwing, and the raised wing adds. We have a good clear view of him holding onto the perch, and I like the inclusion of the berries. The colours of the BG complement him nicely.

The previous image was fantastic and this one gets action in making it more classical

Looks like the bird is trying to taste each of the berry, with quite a few open but not totally eaten

Just a super image Gail. I know these birds have silky smooth plumage, so you did a terrific job pulling detail out of the breast feathers. Love the light on the half-eaten berries; the comp; the raised wing; the color palette. No nits from me (except just maybe a hint more of a catchlight?)

Very cool image, Gail. This guy looks like he's up to no good :)
Love the subdued light, the painterly bg and those burning red berries.
