    Grahme, you seem to have kept a lot of feather detail, so I'm assuming the crop wasn't too much of one. The little sparrow seems awfully cramped, so I'd give him some space with a looser crop and not so square. I also see a lot of noise in the background, so would run noise reduction and only apply sharpening to the bird.

    Grahme,

    I really like what you are doing here, very original composition- love that!!

    Jeannean provide good comments, the frame is tight and you need to remove some of the digital noise (use a NR software). Not sure about the ISO settings, please post the exposure techs, equipment and post processing workflow so we can get a feel for what you are trying to do - need more information here!!

    I have more to say but will wait for the exposure information and go from there.
