Here is an osprey I captured down at Fort DeSoto park a few weeks back. I saw several of these guys flying off the water that morning with their prey after making a nice catch. I was lucky to have enough of the early morning light under the bird to make this image without the flash, since it apparently failed because I didn't realize the batteries were spent. I would like to have seen the left wing lit up with the flash.
Details: Canon 1D Mark II N, Canon 100-400L IS lens, 1/640 sec, aperture priority at f7.1,(zero EV), iso 400, partial metering, hand-held.
Good wing position and a big fish to boot! Image is soft, and the shutter speed is borderline. A slightly higher ISO might have helped get you some more shutter speed. Thanks for posting.
