    Steve,

Lovely portrait, with the open beak making it that much better. I only wish the head was turned just a bit more our way, so that we could see the complete right eye.

At ISO800, I wouldn't expect to see this much noise in some locations. I'm looking at the iris and inside the mouth, specifically. It may be a bit too much sharpening? Not really sure.

    Excellent portrait.
I agree on working on the eyes a bit, this must be a large crop?

    Great shot.
Love the open beak, nice light, and great comp.
    Agree on the noise.

Very pleasing portrait. Lovely details in the face and the open beak is a plus.

Thanks for your comments everyone. I did give the image an extra pass of USM before posting. Looked pretty good on this end but it may be pushed a little past the noise threshold for some viewers. Not cropped much. The bird was only 30 feet away.

    Take care and good light,

    Steve
