Taken last year on an estuary in Wales. I really liked the warm light the late evening gave to this photo. Processed in LR4 and cleaned up a few white spots on the sand. Comments as always appreciated.

    Simon:

Sharp, well exposed, good angle in frame. The ridges in the sand add a lot of interest to the foreground. Nice catchlight.

I would consider toning down the wide area above his back.

    Cheers

I like the gentle light and the head angle of this Dunlin Simon, would have prefered a lower angle if that had been possible.

    Simon,

I agree with Nick about a bit lower angle, but I do like the fact that you can see the feet over some of the ridges. Randy makes a good point about the bright area around the back, but that is an easy fix.

If you can, one round of selective sharpening on the face would really help this guy pop a little more. Nicely done!

Thanks for the comments. I hadn't seen the white patch so will tone that down a bit. I was very low when I took this image, but could have got lower but would have meant lying down in the sand / mud ! Still if it gets the perfect angle..

    Very nice shot.
Lovely soft warm light, great pose, nice details, and great comp.
    Very well done.
