Hi Vishal, exquisite light and IQ, and great DOF on the stork. I really like the colours, and you have brought out the detail so well. Killer wing position, and I do like the layered BG. If anything, adding a touch to the bottom wont harm this. Very well captured.

Stunning capture, Vishal. The light, incoming pose and wing position, layered bg and fantastic colors put this one over the top. Well done indeed!

    Vishal:

Superb pose, colors of bird and smooth layered background play very well together, open bill, all good.

I do agree with a bit more room below (per Stuart).

The sharpening on the rear wings primaries is showing some jaggies.

    Very nice indeed.

    Cheers

Excellent photo. Would love it for my own. A longer vertical crop would perfect it. Fine job.

Extremely beautiful landing pose with great IQ you have captured.
Love the wing position, colors, open beak, pink legs and beautiful BG.
Would add some room at the bottom and take silver line in front of bird.

    Satish.

    Thanks all
This is a frame that was originally a landscape one and cropped to vertical , so dont have space at top or bottom of it to increase
I would have liked a bit more at the bottom too if i could get it. Hope to make a better one in future

Just love the pose - the open beak, the wing position and those long legs - they all add to making this image very dynamic.
Light is very nice, bringing out the sheen in those dark tones. The sharpness is excellent imo.
Nice work Vishal. Where was this taken?

This image was made at Bhigwan a backwater of the indapur dam, on Sholapur road in Maharashtra State (India)
We get many Painted here, even the open billed, this year there were 5 White storks sighted here, but i couldn't see those
one of the best waterbodies for photography , boat is the best way around, not the most stable platform but gives one of the best oppourtinities to photograph

This is so cool! Very dynamic pose and I too love the layered BG. Only thing I would do is remove the light "smudge" between the tail and the right edge. All else looks fantastic.
