Yes, another GGO. Probably my personal favourite perched image of this species so far. This one reminds me of a sculpture an artist wold have carved out of wood. My favourite part of the image is the wind blowing the feathers to reveal the talons. I actually dug a small depression in the snow to get the camera even lower (battery grip at least) to get more of the grey BG behind the subject

Canon 7D +100-400L @310mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/7.1, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, blacks deepened on the perch via burn tool, a smaller piece of wood sticking out of the snow cloned out at right.

Wow, is right! A gorgeous shot of a beautiful owl. Wonderful pose, BG, perch, and eyes. Love those eyes. I'd love to see one in the wild, but from the looks of it, I'd freeze. The snow falling snow adds to the photo for me. Very nice!

I am with you on this being my favorite perched GGO I have seen to date. Love the angle, the perch, the movement in the feathers, the snow. A real winner, Daniel!

Great shot, Daniel. The centered position works well here. Love the pose, stare and the background with the falling snow.

Daniel, its a real winner here. Center placement works well due to the near perfect symmetry of the owl, like you said looks like a carving. Tack sharp, lovely BG with the snow and perfect exposure. I will have to make a trip to Ottawa soon!

Lovely. The blowing feathers, in addition to revealing the talons, keeps the image from becoming stagnant. Falling snow completes the scene.

Definitely my favorite static owl shot of yours and maybe ever. The perch and its location really makes this look like a piece of art. The falling snow, nice BG and your solid techs makes for a beautiful scene.

There are lot of special things around, the look is amazing, perch is best i have seen and it even gets the owl at your level which makes it a very nice image
the snow does add a lot to the image, surely one of the best perched images of this bird i have seen till now

The perfect GGOW totem. The intense eyes, and the falling snow, make this a real winner. Good thinking to dig the camera cave.

Fantastic image Daniel! This one has a great wintery feel to it. I wish we had gotten more perched opportunities when I visited, not that I came away disappointed!

I love the head on central composition of this image Daniel. The lighting is spot on, nice background and the falling snow is a major bonus.
