I shot this little one over the weekend. Couldn't resist when "Mom" let it stand up and start showing off for us. I used the 1DIV, 300 + 2X TC, ISO 640, 1/2500, f/8.0. Used the tripod and gimbal head. Any/all C&C greatly appreciated.
Great to see new life like this Don. I like the image. The feathers are compelling and the BG is good (except for the light stick out the back of his head, which I would remove). I would add a little light (dodge) the eye area and in front, just to help your eye go there.
Very cute image Don. (I agree about the stick.) Thanks for posting this. I don't believe I've seen one this young before, although we've got plenty around here.
I love the 'hair' detail against the green background and would definitely get rid of the stick, it keeps drawing my eye (that sounds weird). How cool to have been in the right place at the right time to get this lovely image.
Glad to see you made it to Gatorland, Don. What a terrific chick pic you captured here. Love all those head feathers and the green really works. I agree with John on trying to remove the stick. Not quite sure how I would do it, maybe a combination of the clone and patch tool. These are both found in PS not sure about elements. Looking forwrd to more GL photos!!!
Great repost Don. Looks like you cloned out the stick over top of the beak as well. Love how the crown feathers stand out against the green background. I might clone away the small feather in the mouth too and perhaps clean up the tip of the beak. Wonderful image. I haven't been to Gatorland yet but did enjoy the Alligator farm in St Augustine on our way home last year. I've read great reports on both locations. Hoping to stop at Alligator Farm again in late April.
Hi Don... in LOVE with this! Agree with above posts, and, Repost is most excellent! What do you think about taking out the little "thingy" between the upper and lower bill?
