    Great Egret on display from a few years ago

    50D, 500 f/4 + 1.4tc, 1/640 at f/8, Manual Mode, spot metered off the bird, raw, iso 400, BG darken in post and Nki detail and white neutralizer fine tuned with layer mask and opacity sliders

    This image is a real beauty, Don. Love that dark BG and how well the bird and vegetation stands out against it. The exposure is really spot on. It's really a simple, lovely portrait.

    I love white birds against black BG. I like the composition as well. Good HA .
    I would get rid of the lighter splotches in the BG on the RHS.

    Very graceful, and the greenery it is perched on is quite appealing. I too would be tempted to rid the faint spots in the BG as per Gail. Awesome details and great job with he whites.

    A very well crafted shot, striking contrast of bird to dark BG. I agree with Daniel, that the perch greenery is very nice, subtle detail.
