Hi, have been avidly reading the site for a while, but never been brave enough to post due to the amazingly high standards. I was pleased with this capture at a local boating lake, when shooting a Boneparte's Gull, a rarity in the UK. This second winter was diving for stones picking them up and dropping them. Your critique will be most welcome and I hope will help me improve.

Hi Jamie, welcome to BPN!! Super nice image of this gull...I've photographed this behaviour before and it is always fun. Great BG, colours, splashing water drops. Image looks quite sharp as posted at this size, but be aware that you allowed to post up to 1024 pixels horizontally (and within 250kb)...I'd love to see it bigger. I would tone down the darker stripe at right edge as my eye gets pulled there.
I'm glad you've taken the plunge (pun intended) and started posting!
Welcome, Jamie. What a neat first post. I really love the pose and the water drops. I like the layered background, the colors, the comp. I'd love to see it bigger too. Great job, and looking forward to seeing more from you.
Sweet first pose! Welcome aboard, Jamie. Love the dynamic pose and the flying droplets. Gorgeous water and bg.
Looking forward to your participation on BPN.
