    Morkel and I visited the Mankwe hide in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve over December - Here is one of the keepers...

    Equipment: Canon 7D and 500mm F4 L lens

    Settings: 1/2500s at F5.6 and ISO 500

    Nice take off pose, Rudy.Nice background. I wish the beak wasn't merged with the wing but it is minor.

    Super take off pose. Great wing extension, tail up and nice BG. Agree it would be even better if the beak didn't merge.

    Nice take-off capture. If they're like our kingfishers, when they decide to take off, they're gone in an instant; usually before my trigger finger gets the message. Bill merge noted. Lovely BG.

    Amazing timing on this one, its really difficult to get these in the pose you have captured it,

    Good take off pose, perch, BG. The eye looks a bit funky, a bit of work on it would improve the image.

    Nice clean background and good lighting on this Kingfisher Rudi. Really nice to get it in flight.

    Well caught, good exposure, a very difficult shot to get, I am looking at the dark plumage and sense a little noise or perhaps it was a fairly large crop??
