    Default Egret Preening

One last texture image. This was taken in 2009 at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. I recently saw an ad for a Wildlife Art Exposition and saved the image (an oil painting) of an egret preening. I tried to duplicate the look with 2 textures from Shadowhouse Creations and then Nik Midnight.

It's lovely Cheryl. I'm a sucker for preening shots like this. They are special because the bird is most vulnerable at this time and I feel like the image captures a special moment. The colors and textures work nicely together. How do you feel about the horizontal lines running across the top of the frame?

Hi, Kerry, thanks. I should have gotten rid of the lines up top. Instead of removal I'll probably just crop a sliver from the top

I like this a lot. I wonder how it would look if you darkened the background slightly?

Thanks, Maureen, here's a repost with a darker bg (and I removed the lines at the top) and a vignette.
