    Default Great Gray Snowfall.

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful species alongside Arash this week...lots of opportunities and good fun. Although lots of flight was possible some of my favorites are perched images. Here's one from our first morning when we had a good snowfall to add some winter mood to the setting!

Canon 7D + 100-400L @235mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/7.1, ISO 800 (settings histogram checked), natural light, handheld, FF, a couple of snow flakes patched out on the face area, and the space between the head and branch tip was doubled via the clone tool.

The character of the perch and snow add to this greeting card image.

Hi Daniel. It sounds like you (and others) have been having a great time with these owls this winter! Excellent sharpness and comp and I like that the owl is not looking directly at you. The snow really adds to the mood. Overall, an outstanding image!

Very peaceful. Color pallette allows the beautiful eyes to draw me right in to his world.

Absolutely beautiful image. Perfect exposure for the snow. Simple, clean perch, and a great owl. What not to like?

    Hi Daniel,
    A lovely environmental shot.
The snow is perfect. I like where you have placed the owl in the frame.
I think I prefer the perched shots of this beautiful owl,
    Gail

Really nice Daniel! I wish we'd had snow like that, not that I'm complaining. Like the clean perch and the incredible wintery feel to the image.

Hi Dan, these guys always seem to be so very alert, and I like how the perch leads into the frame, so Im glad you didnt go vertical here. There again, with all the falling snow, you need to show off more of the great enviroment. A very pleasing image.
