A simple setup for the workshop turned into a nice image when the bird picked up one of the Lantana berries.

This is more than a nice image, Alan. I love how the orange and yellow on her head are echoed by the yellow and orange of the flowers. Fantastic comp, colors, perch and background. She looks like she is wearing ruffles under her belly. Beautiful image.

Super. Did you design this perch expressly for this bird? The accent colors of flowers and bird are a perfect match. And of course the woodpecker cooperated to the fullest. A lovely image indeed.

Wonderful image Alan. Beautiful colors and the berry in it's beak is just great.

Hey Bill, The perch and Lantana was set up for a few species, although I knew it would match the colors of the Woodpecker, especially the male.

Great setting, beutiful composition and the berry in the beak is a great plus, Alan.
And as Melissa made not of it: "I love how the orange and yellow on her head are echoed by the yellow and orange of the flowers."

What a gem of a set up. Wow. And a very interesting looking wood pecker with a great pose.

Nice set up that works very well Alan, I've never thought of Lantana used as a prop. Lovely colors and sharp focus and detail, the Lantana looks as good as the bird

The experts here are certainly way ahead of me but I find the background too green with the bird almost swallowed up. Wonder if some magenta might be added for better color contrast with the subject.
