You've got a very good story here but I have to agree with Manos on the BG.......the little twigs protruding in seem to be the most bothersome,

Hi Sid Agree and can add the point of focus is in front of the eye with the nesting material Do like the pose and behavior captured !!! You should be able to find them in the open !!!

Looks like you had a difficult situation here. The BG is very busy and is taking away from your subject.

Sid, the only piece of advice I can give you is to pick your perches, particularly on a bird as common as an American Robin. I'm sure if you spend a little time with these guys, you'll find a perch that compliments the bird.
