I just can't seem to have enough of this guy. He's small and fast, so a great challenge to catch an in flight image that shows of his beautiful blue wings.

Please let me know what you think. I love the blue wing spread, the eye, the pose. I wish I have a softer BG, but that was not to be. I chose to leave the branches in front to show his habitat and offset the plain blue sky.

Nice downstroke pose. Did the bird take flight from the bush that we see or did he take off from a perch above and beyond the bush?

I like this image much better than the one you posted earlier. No wonder it is your favorite. I would be very happy wht one like this, Loi. Love the downstroke wing position, good details and excellent eye contact.

This is nice Loi, very well done, wish we could see more of the tail feathers/spread out.

Thank you, Artie. As you suspected, the bird took flight from a branch above and to the left.

Ah, Sanjeev, you just gave me a new assignment. I will see if I can catch him with the tail more spread out. Thank you.

I really like the flight pose. Don't mind the blue sky and think the branches add a lot of interest.

A real feat to catch these guys in flight. Great flight pose, and the branches are a plus (although I'm of two minds about the right-hand one). Terrific eye contact.

    Loi,

Very nice timing to get the outstretched wings on the downstroke. Detail and sharpness is there.

I like the inclusion of the branches on the left, but as Bill mentioned, I may take a look at a version without the branch on the right.

This is fabulous! I would try taking a sliver off the top and agree with the little "toe removal" comment... Unique and action-packed capture.

Thank you all the great folks at BPN. I really appreciate your comments and the honest feedback that would help me to improve my skills. Just ordered a PS CS6, o when I gets here, I will learn and try to clone out the toe. I thought about the right branch as well, there is merit in taking it off for sure, I left it here to frame the bird, but lets take a look at a version without it. Thanks again.
