Sid ....that looks like a shark fin just in front !!!

Good eye contact and head angle Exposure looks good Might give it a little more room in frame. The point of focus seems to be on the shoulder not the eye. In all bird images you want the eye itself to be the sharpest part of the image.

btw the effective focal length you were photographing was not 500!!!!! lens 300 ---- converter 1.7 ------ camera 1.5 = 765mm Would always use from a tripod !!! Particularly if you are at 1/400 sec shutter speed !!!

The one thing I would try changing in the image is the bg and angle if possible. Lower angles are more pleasing. You can alter the bg up to a point by moving slightly right left (within sun angle). Also letting the bird move into a better area.

    Very nice composition Sid,
I like the image. The colors on your bird are very pleasing. Also agree with the point of focus being on the shoulder and not the eye. I'm a little distracted by the brown bunch of reeds to the right of your subject; you might want to tone it down a bit, maybe perhaps a little selective blur...:D

Very nice capture Sid. A very sharp image (must be the new lens) Excellent head angle.
    Congrats
